59th Western Poultry Disease Conference
19 – 21 April 2010
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver,
Message from the 59th WPDC Program Chair
“An Integrated Approach to Poultry Disease”
The factors that impact our abilities to detect, diagnose, and respond to disease multiply each year. From regulations and economics to sequencing and cladograms, the poultry professional wades through a morass of challenges and uses a host of tools. The WPDC provides an annual opportunity to meet with our colleagues and explore current problems and their potential solutions.
The upcoming meeting will be packed with information that is both applicable and timely. We will include the latest information on the judicious use of antibiotics, presentations on the interplay of management and disease, and the ever popular case reports. We will be taking submissions for both oral and poster presentations and are planning on holding concurrent sessions.
I first attended this meeting 16 years ago, when I was a teenager enrolled at UC Davis. Though I have learned a tad bit more about poultry since then, I find each WPDC is an opportunity to expand my knowledge. I am extremely pleased to have the privilege of serving as Program Chair for the 59th annual conference in the stunning city of Vancouver, BC. I look forward to seeing each of you there.
Dr. Nancy Reimers
